Overall, June wholesale prices for hemp and hemp-derived products inched upwards as planting season is fully underway. Biomass saw an upward trend for smaller volumes, all categories of CBD distillates had positive price movement, as did isolates for traditional cannabinoids, while novelty isolates saw varied results. Pricing for bulk smokable flower products had varied movement as total volume of sales by grow type shifted, impacting the aggregate categories.
Clones for both CBD and CBG varieties continued to decline as outdoor planting came into focus across the country. Seed prices climbed due to a decrease in sales to international markets entering the shoulder season and smaller volumes being purchased domestically, minimizing discounts available for larger acreage planting. The aggregate CBD and CBG biomass prices held steady, while prices for lots less than 100,000 pounds rose slightly.
As has been the case since late 2024, CBD Crude Oil prices stayed flat this month. THC Free CBD distillate and Broad Spectrum CBD distillate both saw 4% price increases, with Full Spectrum CBD distillate gaining 2%. The aggregate Refined CBD Hemp Oil category moved 1% higher as total volume of THC Free and Broad Spectrum transacted shrunk. CBD Isolate prices also rose by 4%, while its CBG counterpart gained 1% per kilo.
Smokable CBD Flower prices rose for the 4th straight month. The aggregate smokable CBD category increased despite declining prices for all grow types. Prices for THCa flower experienced the opposite phenomenon, where the aggregate category saw an overall decline of 1.6% while prices for the individual grow types all increased. The aggregate price assessment movement going against that of the individual grow types signifies a shift in supply mix. For THCa flower, despite a price increase for indoor and greenhouse grown flower, the percent of total transactions for lower-priced greenhouse and for outdoor flower increased, pushing the aggregate price assessment into the red.
Prices for both Delta-8 THC Distillate and Delta-10 THC Distillate increased this month, with the former rising 3.7% and the latter by 1.5% per kilo. With regulatory uncertainty hanging over several state markets, consumer demand has allowed for prices to stay high as the balance to keep supply from potentially sitting on shelves is managed by producers.
Shipping rates for Dry Van and Sprinter Van transportation of hemp products stabilized this month, gaining roughly 1%. Continued uncertainty regarding port traffic and freight demand will result in unpredictable rates in the near future.
