Hemp Benchmarks March 2025 Spot Price Index Report
March 26, 2025

March wholesale prices for hemp and hemp-derived products saw increases across a large portion of the major product categories. Genetics for both CBD and CBG had rising prices as preparations are being made for the 2025 planting season, and the market for warehouse grown smokable flower continues to be in demand across the country.

All of the CBD Biomass volume categories, save for the largest, increased this month, yet the aggregate CBD Biomass category remained even. CBG Biomass prices fell 6% to reach parity with its CBD counterpart.

Clones for both CBD and CBG plants enjoyed the largest upward price movement, climbing 10% and 18%, respectively. Feminized seed prices for all varieties also increased as domestic demand grows heading into the spring months.

The aggregate Refined CBD Hemp Oil category, consisting of transactions for THC Free, Broad Spectrum, and Full Spectrum CBD Distillates, marginally increased by 1% per kilo this month. Full Spectrum CBD Distillate was the only sub-category to lose value, dropping 5% per kilo. CBD Isolate pricing regained value in March, increasing 3%, and is now valued 13.5% higher than the 2024 average. CBG Distillate prices jumped 11% to reach a new high price assessment for the category. Compared to the 2024 average, the index has risen by a staggering 50%, mostly due to a reduction in supply as market participants abandoned focusing on the once darling cannabinoid. Despite trending downward for the fourth month in a row, CBG Isolate prices are still higher than the 2024 average price per kilo.

Smokable CBD flower prices ticked up 1.4%, driven exclusively by indoor grown products, while greenhouse and outdoor grown flower fell 3.3% and 5.2%, respectively. CBG flower prices also lost 2.9%. THCa flower grown in all environments saw rising prices this month, with the aggregate category gaining 4.0%.

Once again, THCv Isolate prices continue to decline, this month by 7.9% per kilogram. Since we introduced this product category in July 2024, the price assessment has lost over 33% in value. CBC Isolate pricing also continues to decline, losing 3.5% this month and down 6.6% from January.
